Pastor Dave Ginter

Meet the Ginters...

Dave was born and raised on a mink and trout farm just 30 miles east of Portland, Oregon in the USA. He is the youngest of five children. Sheryl was born in Perth, Australia, an only child, of an only child.

Sheryl married young but due to her husband’s violence, infidelity and abandonment, the marriage ended 5 years later. Sheryl had experienced 2 miscarriages but was blessed with one 9 lb healthy boy, whom she named Elton.

On a trip to Egypt in 1986, Sheryl met Allen.  He was working in Cairo for a US based company.  They married and attended the Church where Dave was an Associate pastor.  After 7 years of wonderful marriage, Allen died from cancer and Sheryl’s dream turned into a nightmare.

But God is in the Restoration Business!  He never ceases to amaze!  Out of a pile of ashes that was Sheryl’s life, and the loneliness of singleness for Dave, God brought forth new life and new hope.   Dave and Sheryl returned to Egypt to marry in June, 1995 at Maadi Community Church.

Dave and Sheryl’s time in Cairo provided them the opportunity to study first hand within the two most mentioned lands of the Bible; Israel and Egypt.  They learned how to interpret the Bible from a middle-eastern perspective.

While serving an international congregation in The Philippines, they adopted two teenage brothers, Ryan and Joshua. After their mother’s death, Ryan was forced into child labor at age 11. Joshua has become the world’s oldest surviving person born HIV positive. Josh has improved so much health-wise that doctors now predict he will live a normal AND healthy life!

The family moved to Guatemala where Dave served for 5 years as Senior Pastor of Union Church of Guatemala.  The Ginters are currently in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where Ryan and Josh are attending college .  Elton is engaged to Natasha and works in Seattle for a computer software provider.
